IVI Consults on SugarHouse Casino
This 106,000 SFG, 1,700-slot, single story casino sits on the 22.6-acre site of the former Jack Frost Refinery along the Delaware River, not far from the heart of historic Philadelphia. The project is the first interim phase of a casino development, which is intended to ultimately contain 5,000 slot machines, numerous restaurants, a multi-purpose event center, a spa, a hotel, and parking garages.
The project is being developed by HSP Gaming with Keating Consulting as the development manager. Cope Linder Architects has been retained as the architect-of-record and Keating Building Corporation is the construction manager. Work began in September 2009 and a grand opening is expected by August 2010.
IVI is providing project management oversight services, which consist of construction cost control; review of contract drawings and specifications; and the review of construction and building loan documents, schedules, permits, and approvals. During the construction, IVI is providing payment requisition disbursement control services and confirmed general compliance of construction with the project documents.
